Meet Chris

Chris is a Professional Forest Technologist with over 25 years experience in the oil and gas as well as forestry sector.  Chris is a graduate of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology Forestry Program 1989.  Chris has worked as a Forest Officer for the Alberta Government where he was responsible for all work functions in a land area, primarily landuse, timber management and forest protection.  During that time he was certified as a reclamation inspector for upstream oil and gas.  After leaving the Government in 1994 Chris spent three years managing a field office for an Environmental company at Grande Prairie where his main work was reclamation, remediation and land management planning.  Chris moved to a consulting position with a larger Oil and Gas producer in 1997 where he was responsible for land planning, reclamation and construction support, ultimately gaining experience to move to a Team lead position in Calgary before leaving in 2014 to return to Grande Prairie.

Chris’ training and experience have been strong in the area of Team Leading, Project Coordination, civil engineering (road design and watershed management), project planning, cost control, forest sciences, communications, reclamation, silviculture, remote sensing, wildlife and fisheries values, geographic information systems, policy and regulations.

Chris has been involved in many committees over the years as a representative of Devon or for the College of Professional Forest Technologists.  Most recently Chris was the Devon Energy rep on Canadas Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA) as well as representing Devon on the Foothills Land Management Forum.  As a College rep Chris was involved with the Remediation sign off committee and prior to that the establishment of Professional sign of for Reclamation Certificates.
